It's dinner for breakfast time!

Growing up in the convenience food era means a lot of us are conditioned to think that breakfast HAS to look a certain way: it’s toast or cereal and if you’re feeling fancy on the weekend it could be pancakes or eggs.

But just because this is the norm does not mean that’s what you ‘should’ do. Parents ask me all the time what we eat for breakie and my answer? Whatever we have or feel like.

Most often that’s some pulled together leftovers, almost always containing veggies and often for Ashton it involves an egg. For me it’s usually slow cooked meat warmed in broth and served with vegetables. So simple, so nutritious. Protein, fats, fibre, iron and a whole lotta micronutrients and antioxidants.

Mums often worry that if their child doesn’t eat dinner (too tired, snacked too late, or just over it) then they’re missing out on important nutrients- but I say that by making every meal as nutrient dense as possible you need never worry about bub being too tired for dinner again
